Over the past couple months I have been experimenting making different types of smoothies for breakfast. I love making them because you can get your daily protein, vitamins and greens intake – all in one drink. I avoid adding sugar and dairy in any of the smoothies I have been creating.
The addition of spirulina in this smoothie offers benefits including being extremely high in many nutrients, being a powerful antioxidant, and having many ant-inflammatory properties. I recently purchased the Glowing Goddess Daily Greens powder from FWC and I love how it is not gritty like some protein powders. Here is my recipe:
1 cup coconut water
1 frozen banana
1 cup frozen mango or pineapple
1 cup Spinach or kale
1 tbs spirulina powder
1/4 of a cucumber
2 small chunks ginger
1 scoop of FWC “Green Goddess daily greens powder”
Add a sprinkle of cacao nibs and coconut shreds as a topping (optional)
I like to make this smoothie first thing in the morning. I often struggle to eat in the morning so this is the perfect smoothie to get my day started, give me an energy boost and fill me up without making me feel too full. The “green goddess” powder is a new addition to the smoothie and has made a big difference with energy in my mornings, and gives the smoothie an overall creamier texture.
On days I don’t get the daily vegetables/greens intake in, this smoothie is great because of the amount of vitamins and minerals included with not only the powder, but also the rest of the ingredients. Green smoothies are full of benefits including: digestive health, immunity support, healthy skin and so much more.
I hope you all enjoy this smoothie as much as i do!
