Vancouver’s “Dine Out” Campaign

In the middle of a global pandemic it is beyond wonderful to have restaurants open. In Canada, Vancouver at one point this Fall, was the only province that was lucky enough to have them remain open after the initial spring closure that saw restaurants and small business closed across the country. Dine Out is a promotion organized by Tourism Vancouver that features over 300 restaurants that offer special three course menus for lunch and dinner throughout the Lower Mainland from February 5 to March 7. The purpose is to drive traffic to restaurants. Yearly this event takes place in January, when restaurants are typically quieter, but in 2021 the campaign was extended and pushed forward a month.

I had the pleasure of visiting many spots during this time frame. Of course safety protocols are in place and dining should be conducted with your household only. Some of the restaurants I visited include; Pier 7, The Beachhouse at Kits Point, The American, H Lounge, Silk Lounge, and Atlas Steakhouse. I was surprised, but my favourite menu by far was from Pier 7 as their menu included a Sablefish as the main course which was fantastic. Nice to know that this quality food can be found 5 minutes from my home. Lower Lonsdale has definitely been expanding over the years and Pier 7 is one of the many quality restaurants available for not only those from the North Shore, but Vancouverites who want to take a ride or a Seabus from Vancouver. Another stand out for me was The American as I loved the burgers which I have never tried before. I was blown away by the quality!
